I am an artist based in Anchorage, Alaska working in the media of oil painting and fine art photography.
Struggling with burnout, I resigned from my position as a hospitalist physician three years ago. I was 39 years old. I felt like I was in free fall, not knowing who I was or where I was going. Despite the turbulent transition, or perhaps because of it, I find myself where I am today: becoming a working artist.
I have been an avid photographer for twenty years. I have found the urge to push myself beyond photography over the last handful of years. Oil painting has opened a new universe of possibility to explore the people, places, creatures, and landscapes that fill me with inspiration and awe. At this time, most of my creative time and energy is dedicated to oil painting.
